They will have to respect of the new members, because they will beat the snot out of them in drills and scrimmages. Paintball Training them will require an ability to explain how to play paintball in a lucid manner. When you train someone at something, you need to use short sentences. You need small words. You need to start with the obvious and the basic. You need to repeat these basics until they become part of how your players play Paintball in Cheshire. If someone is playing loose, you need to repeatedly instruct them on how to hold their body in a tighter position. If someone following them around asking them what those team mates are saying. You need to work basic drills over and over and over. One repetition is never enough to learn something. Also, the more seasoned Cheshire members of the team need to do these same drills with the newer members. Team mates should take turns watching one another and advising. Beating up on the newer players in a scrimmage doesn’t do any good until you have taught those Paintball players from being beaten the same way, by telling them how it was done. Incidentally, all this explanation and thinking about things are done will also help the more experienced players improve. By teaching, one better understands what is being taught. Do not compete while you are rebuilding your Cheshire team. Do not enter tournaments. Resist the temptation to assess the team’s progress by competing until your players are at least on an even footing.
