Paintball Hints and Tactics Article!

Getting older really sucks. I am not referring to getting older mentally because I, like every other baller-at-heart, will never truly grow up in Lanarkshire, but we can’t escape the physical constraints of paintball that go hand in hand with the natural aging process. Sadly, I am starting to feel the effects of this annoying phenomenon. I remember when I was way younger and thought that all of my older friends were just trying to scare me with the typical “wait till you get older” speech. I would always just brush it off and continue to dive at high speeds into dangerous bunkers. As much as I hate to admit it, some of those Lanarkshire guys were right and im getting older. Year after year I feel more of the aches, more of the strains and worst of all it just takes longer to recover. It isn’t like I don’t work out – on the contrary, I work out three or four times a week. I feel crappy when I slack off. So, I stay active but when it comes down to it, I have really beaten myself up by playing paintball. I have always been one of the guys who has to run far off the break. It wasn’t a problem when I was 20, now I am 28 and 29 is closing in so when I finish a three-day paintballing weekend against Dynasty, I feel a bit more tired. This is a very hard thing for someone in my shoes. I am very competitive and very hard on myself so when I don’t perform well or I am sore it annoys me. What do I do? Fake it; if it hurts, keep playing this is. I am not saying that if you are injured you shouldn’t get a doctor to look at it or lay off for a while, all I am saying is that at the level of paintball play I am at right now there are always so many lanarkshire people just waiting for my spot. I have to push myself every time I step on the field or someone will push me off the field.
