Who is covering you? Can they help you if you tell them briefly what you want to do? Triggered by a certain call, your Blackburn team mates can create openings by shooting guys in and holding them there, although this is dependant on the Blackburn field’s and whether everyone makes their spots. Aspects of the run-through, such as awareness and timing can be nigh-on impossible to train in a drill situation. However, one aspect that you can work on in training is the execution of these moves. Here are a few drills we have found to really help out with some of these essential paintballing skills; you can do them on your own or in a group, and you don’t even need that much paint. Running and gunning, this is an essential skill in nu skool ‘ball in Blackburn.
Applied to the run-through, being able to shoot people at full sprint with your first stream of paint will give you more time to have a go at your next target. Switching hands quickly and precisely whilst running and gunning, the quicker you can do this the quicker you can spit streams of paintballs at the Blackburn bad guys. Running with your gun up and waiting for the right time to shoot, when approaching a bad guy’s bunker it is essential you have your gun up, However if you run up blazing they are very likely to come into the open and trade out with you. Running and gunning then sliding into a bunker, you want to bunker the primary target then slide into the next bunker as smoothly as possible, immediately bringing your gun up across the field to shoot the secondary target. Your main aim in all of this is to get as many guys off the Blackburn field as possible without getting tagged.
