Paintball Hints and Tactics Article!

Want to know what its like when you play paintball professionally for too long In Leicester or anywhere?? Here’s the story of Jason Manning – I couldn’t find a sensible way out at the time. One of my closest friends, in fact the one who I was clashing with the worst, meant too much to me to tell him I couldn’t play with him any longer, so I did what any proper spineless wuss does in that situation: I had to play the classic “its not you, its me,” manoeuvre, and leave Paintball entirely. I was devastated. I couldn’t go back to playing ‘for fun’, which should be telling for any of us who refer to rec-ball like that, and I couldn’t imagine trying to start over, because obviously, that would bring me back to having to tell my friend that we couldn’t play together. I seriously entertained the idea of selling my paintball marker, investing in a mountain bike and travelling around riding trails and injuring myself horribly like another close friend and burnout victim had done before me. Paintball in Leicester had nothing left to offer me, it seemed, so I grasped at straws for something, anything, to fill the huge void. Luckily, a new Leicester paintball store had opened not long before I’d hung up my cleats, and the shop owner and I had become fast friends. I found that my cutting ties to my team didn’t mean I had to quit playing altogether, and it quickly developed that I could never sell my gun because I couldn’t keep it on the shop wall long enough, as I was constantly guesting for this team of ‘youngsters’. It was a mentor role that I relished with a great bunch of kids, without the pressure and expectation of winning every event…I was rejuvenated I wanted to play in Leicester again.
