Off-season exercise is a must expecially in Nottingham – this is just a general life thing. Staying in shape make you feel better about yourself and promotes a healthy lifestyle. For me, exercising in the off-season let me lift more weights and decrease our plyometric and conditioning work. I focus more on getting stronger, this will improve my speed when the paintball season comes around. Most athletes need to cycle their training, this way your body doesn’t adapt or get burnt out. it also lets you break your training down into different training cycles for nottingham events. Below is a workout that I designed for an intermediate athlete (consult your physician before attempting any exercise regimen). Use it wholly or use bits of it to fit your individual needs. If you don’t have any weight training experience, do a full body workout three times a week to get your body used to training. The workout is designed on a five-day workout week. If you must miss days, then skip the cardio and try to incorporate your cardio on training days. Also remember this is for the off-season, when pre-season starts you will have to start doing some track and speed work . Make sure you are completely warmed up before every exercise you bust out in nottingham and you do the proper stretches (dynamic and static). Rep scheme: Warm-up 10x(50%max), warm-up 8x(60%max), warm up 8x(60%max), two to three working sets from six to eight raps. Make it paintball specific once warm you can do one warm session for the following lifts then go to working sets (make sure you can finish at least six raps on the last set). Start with Day One on the first week. Then on the second week start with Day Three then follow in sequence.
