Control fire the key to winning at reading?– I hate to use the term “cover fire” because it sounds too much like scenario paintballers, so I will call it control fire. This is where you’re back and mid guys control the opposing teams players so you can make the moves downfield. When a team sets up defensively its tough to break them down. So if your other players are controlling them its easier for your team mates to move downfield and finish the game. Time management is the closing portion of the game is also critical. If you run out of time during a paintballing game, that’s just as bad as a loss when it comes to scoring. Make sure when you’re making your final push that you don’t leave it too lateget you Reading team into a winning mindset. Sometimes it takes a couple of minutes to finish a game, so plan for it. I have seen many teams make a great push, shoot all the players then the time runs out when thy are five feet from the flag station. One other note is don’t get super stupid when trying to finish, because if you do the other team still has enough time to hang the flag on you. Your support players should never get greedy when sweeping up a game. Basically when playing paintball in reading they need to communicate, control fire and manage the clock so other players can make good moves and hopefully eliminate the opposing teams. How many times have you see a mid or back guy crowd out a front guy in the same bunker that’s on a fifty? This is probably the most common mistake when sweeping up a field. Basically the mid or back guy should be helping the front guy get those kills. When a mid or back paintball guy makes a move and crowds the front guy it not only makes it easier for the opposing team to keep track of your players, it also reduces the possible angles and lessens the possibility for the mid or back guy to set up a move.
